Pursuant to Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 141 dated 21 August 2025, the Academy of Justice, being a specialized state educational and research institution responsible for training candidates for judicial positions, retraining judges and court staff, and enhancing their professional qualifications, has, in accordance with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Resolution “On Measures to Further Improve the Postgraduate Education System” № 304 dated 22 May 2017, established a postgraduate education institute at the Academy and launched admissions for Doctor of Science (DSc) candidates, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates, and independent researchers in the following specializations: 12.00.02 — Constitutional Law. Administrative Law. Financial and Customs Law; 12.00.03 — Civil Law. Business Law. Family Law. Private International Law; 12.00.04 — Civil Procedural Law. Economic Procedural Law. Arbitration Proceedings and Mediation; 12.00.05 — Labour Law. Social Security Law; 12.00.07 — Judiciary. Prosecutorial Supervision. Organization of Law Enforcement Activities. Advocacy; 12.00.08 — Criminal Law. Criminal Enforcement Law; 12.00.09 — Criminal Procedure. Criminalistics, Operational-Search Law and Forensic Expertise; 12.00.10 — International Law.
At present, the Academy has admitted 2 Doctor of Science (DSc) candidates, 12 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates, and more than 100 independent researchers, who are conducting fundamental, applied, and innovative research in the field of justice and law.
To date, a total of 2 Doctor of Science (DSc) candidates, 11 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates, and more than 7 independent researchers have successfully defended their dissertations.
Furthermore, scientific councils authorized to award academic degrees have been established and their activities have been launched under the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan: the PhD Scientific Council № PhD.37/27.02.2020.Yu.107.01 for the specializations 12.00.03 — Civil Law. Business Law. Family Law. Private International Law and 12.00.04 — Civil Procedural Law. Economic Procedural Law. Arbitration Proceedings and Mediation; and the DSc Scientific Council № DSc.27/2025.27.12.Yu.01.01 for the specializations 12.00.07 — Judiciary. Prosecutorial Supervision. Organization of Law Enforcement Activities. Advocacy; 12.00.08 — Criminal Law. Criminal Enforcement Law; and 12.00.09 — Criminal Procedure. Criminalistics, Operational-Search Law and Forensic Expertise.
To date, more than 40 dissertation defenses have been conducted by the PhD Scientific Council № PhD.37/27.02.2020.Yu.107.01 in the following specializations: 12.00.03 — Civil Law. Business Law. Family Law. Private International Law; and 12.00.04 — Civil Procedural Law. Economic Procedural Law. Arbitration Proceedings and Mediation.
In addition, the Academy regularly hosts national and international scientific and practical conferences, as well as academic sessions (“subject hours”), with the participation of highly qualified experts, Doctors of Science, and professors.
