Advanced Training and Retraining

MANDATORY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES FOR JUDGES AND COURT STAFF

The Academy of Justice provides a structured framework for mandatory advanced training, ensuring continuous professional development for various roles within the judiciary. Judges appointed for a five-year term undergo training for at least two weeks every two years, while those appointed for a ten-year term participate in sessions for a minimum of two weeks every three years. Supreme Court judges, court chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, and judges appointed for an indefinite term are required to attend training for at least one week every three years. Additionally, judges with low performance ratings must undergo extraordinary professional development lasting no less than two weeks. Administrative personnel of the courts, including judicial assistants and heads of registries and archives, are scheduled for mandatory training for at least one week every two years.

Furthermore, the Academy offers specialized professional development courses for presiding judges focusing on complex legal categories as designated by the Supreme Court. The training of court staff is implemented systematically based on directives from the Supreme Court; however, provisions are also made for voluntary participation, allowing staff members to pursue advanced training based on their professional interests and personal initiative.

RETRAINING COURSES FOR JUDICIAL LEADERSHIP

The Academy of Justice offers specialized leadership retraining courses with a duration of up to two months, specifically designed for judges in the recruitment reserve for senior positions within district (city) and regional courts. Throughout the duration of these courses, participants retain their primary positions and are entitled to their average monthly salary at their place of employment. In accordance with established policy, appointments to relevant leadership positions in district (city) and regional courts are generally granted only to those judges who have successfully completed the leadership retraining program.
